Turning Complex Lifts into Clear, Real-World Case Studies

Overview

Stoddart Crane Hire wanted to start sharing more of the stories behind their lifting projects. From offshore operations to tight indoor installs, their work often involves complex planning and technical problem-solving, but much of that expertise isn’t always visible from the outside.

To help change that, I wrote a series of four case studies highlighting the variety of work the team delivers. These included offshore crane work in Scapa Flow with Leask Marine, a precision lift for Harry Gow’s bakery in Culloden, a major shutdown project at Norbord West Fraser, and a multi-crane lift used to launch the UK’s first fully electric workboat on the Isle of Lewis.

My role

  • Wrote four project case studies based on client technical submissions

  • Turned complex lifting operations into clear, engaging narratives

  • Structured each piece around the story of the job, from the challenge through to the final lift

  • Balanced technical detail with accessible language so the projects could be understood by a wider audience

The outcome

The case studies now give Stoddart a way to share the real stories behind their projects, showing how planning, teamwork and expertise come together to deliver complex lifts safely and successfully. They also provide flexible content that can be used across the website, marketing materials and future proposals.
